【摘要】:Theabilityofaplasticmaterialtoresistdeteriorationofitselectrical,mechanical,andopticalpropertiescausedbyexposuretolight,heat,andwatercanbeverysignificantformanyapplications.Thispracticeisintendedtoinducepropertychangesassociatedwithend-useconditions,includingtheeffectsofsunlight,moisture,andheat.Theexposureusedinthispracticeisnotintendedtosimulatethedeteriorationcausedbylocalizedweatherphenomena,suchas,atmosphericpollution,biologicalattack,andsaltwaterexposure.(Warning8212;Variationinresultsmaybeexpectedwhenoperatingconditionsarevariedwithintheacceptedlimitsofthispractice.Therefore,noreferencetotheuseofthispracticeshouldbemadeunlessaccompaniedbyareportpreparedinaccordancewithSection8thatdescribesthespecificoperatingconditionsused.RefertoPracticeG151fordetailedinformationonthecaveatsapplicabletouseofresultsobtainedinaccordancewiththispractice.)Note28212;Additionalinformationonsourcesofvariabilityandonstrategiesforaddressingvariabilityinthedesign,execution,anddataanalysisoflaboratory-acceleratedexposuretestsisfoundinGuideG141.Reproducibilityoftestresultsbetweenlaboratorieshasbeenshowntobegoodwhenthestabilityofmaterialsisevaluatedintermsofperformancerankingcomparedtoothermaterialsortoacontrol.5,6Therefore,exposureofasimilarmaterialofknownperformance(acontrol)atthesametimeasthetestmaterialsisstronglyrecommended.Itisrecommendedthatatleastthreereplicatesofeachmaterialbeexposedtoallowforstatisticalevaluationofresults.TestresultswilldependuponthecarethatistakentooperatetheequipmentinaccordancewithPracticeG154.Significantfactorsincluderegulationoflinevoltage,temperatureoftheroominwhichthedeviceoperates,temperaturecontrol,andconditionandageofthelamp.1.1ThispracticecoversspecificproceduresandtestconditionsthatareapplicableforfluorescentUVexposureofplasticsconductedinaccordancewithPracticesG151andG154.Thispracticealsocoversthepreparationoftestspecimens,thetestconditionsbestsuitedforplastics,andtheevaluationoftestresults.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsareberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesgiveninbracketsareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note18212;ThispracticeistechnicallysimilartoISO4892-3.
